brings the community together, getting everyone working toward the same goal by building consensus and cooperation among the groups that have an important stake in the Silvis business district. Both businesses and residents benefit by using the common-sense formula of a volunteer-driven program to promote the program, raise awareness and solicit funds to sustain the program.

markets the districts unique assets to bring people downtown. It sells both the image and promise to shoppers, investors, new businesses and visitors. Their responsibilities are to promote the downtown image both to our community and other communities, generate support for Silvis businesses and promote a sense of community for Silvis residents through retail promotions, marketing campaigns and a series of special events.

addresses the physical environment of the Silvis business district. Preserve historic buildings, landscaping and merchandising (store windows) help convey a visual message about what Main Street has to offer.

works to improve the Silvis economic commercial district by helping existing businesses expand and recruit new businesses that respond to today’s market. Main Street programs help convert unused and underused spaces into productive properties and cultivate local and regional entrepreneurship.
